Reduced Supply & Increased Demand: What Are The Reasons?

I suppose fifty-some-odd comments in two days can’t be wrong; this is a topic that requires further discussion.

There were some incredibly insightful comments, and a lot of great ideas thrown around.

Today, I want to look at potential reasons for the lack of supply in our market.

A lot of these points were raised in the comments section of Monday’s blog, but let me throw a couple of my own ideas out there, and then we’ll open the topic to discussion…

Toronto’s Real Estate Problem: Simple Supply & Demand

Tell me if I sound like a broken record here, when I talk about the problem of “supply and demand” once again.

But tell me I sound like a broken record, and it won’t stop me from writing this blog post, or many more like it.

I’m tired of reading sensational media stories that try to prove a person, a group, or an idea is responsible for “unaffordable” house prices.

In the end, it’s basic, simple, logical supply and demand…

Should You Offer Without A Condition On ‘Status Certificate?’

I was down in Idaho for a vacation, but that doesn’t mean that I was off the clock.

I sold a few properties while I was away, and I also made on offer for a buyer that got really, really interesting when it came to the subject of the Status Certificate condition.

My Own Private Idaho!

It’s Monday, and many of you desperately need to kill four-and-a-half minutes of time with something moderately-educational.

So while I’m here in Victor, Idaho, I figured I’d give you a tour of our family home.

It’s a lot different from what we see in Toronto!

A timber-frame home on a large parcel of land, for the price of a 1-bedroom Toronto condo.

How ironic that I was born in 1980, the same year the B-52’s released the song “Your Own Private Idaho”…

On Vacation!

I sat down to try to write something for Thursday, and I just stared at the screen for a half-hour.  Honest.

I got nothin’ left, folks.  I need a vacation!

I’ll be in Victor, Idaho until August the 10th, and I’m cutting back to……four hours a day of work!

I already have an idea for Monday’s blog – a tour of our modest lil’ house here in Victor…
