October TRREB Stats – Coming Monday!

Market Statistics

< 1 minute read

November 3, 2023

“Mail-it-in Friday?”  Matthew asks.

(sigh)

This week was insane.

And as I sit here writing this at 11:55pm on Thursday night, I owe it to all of us to do a full dive into the newly-released stats.  And that, sadly, will have to wait until Monday…

But here’s one stat that I find shocking:

The average GTA home price increased month-over month.

Only by 0.6%, but the increase wasn’t expected by a single real estate agent in the city, let alone the sellers, who all felt the market slow from September to October

Let me say this with confidence: not a single house in the GTA was worth more in October than it was in September.

And thus, the above stat makes no sense.

Have a great weekend, folks!  See you back here Monday for the deep dive…

I’m curious to see the mix in the stats. Anecdotally speaking, I’ve noticed a shift in the listings in my area. There is almost nothing in the entry range ($1.4-1.7 semis). Everything is either detached, or huge semis over 2 mil. Curious if that’s more wide spread.

I was so giddy when I read “October TRREB Stats” until I read the rest of the headline….. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m used to getting gut punches from life. Just wasn’t expecting it from my friendly neighbourhood realtor blog.
