A Verbal Agreement, Is Not An Agreement

This should not come as a surprise to anybody.

But time and time again, and especially through these unrealistic real estate TV shows, I see verbal offers and verbal negotiations resulting in verbal agreements, which are NOT agreements!

Sure, it might come together in the end, and you might not get burned.

The “Occupancy Phase”

So you purchased a pre-construction condo in 2010, and now the condo is “ready.”

Ready?  You mean “finished?”  Oh no, no.  It’s not even close to being finished.

But your own individual unit is finished, and now the developer gives you “occupancy” of the unit, while construction continues on the rest of the building.

CBC Doc Zone: “The Condo Game”

I don’t want this to come off as shameless self-promotion, but I do want to inform everybody of the CBC’s documentary on Toronto condominiums that is airing on Thursday night at 9:00pm.

It’s not a “condo bashing” piece, but it’s not pushing the real estate agenda either.
