Imagine my reaction this week when a TRB reader emailed me and said she’s looking for freehold properties under $800,000 and she found three suitable options that she wanted to consider.

Really?  Under $800,000?

You won’t believe the properties that she found, although you will if you watch today’s Pick5, since I’m going to show you all three.

Is it still possible to find a freehold property; however small, cute, and cozy, in and around this price range?

Can a buyer who admittedly has low standards and modest needs actually find something “cute as a button,” for, say, under $900,000?

In today’s Pick5, I want to show you five freehold properties listed for sale between $799,900 and $1,099,000, with the latter being a house described as a “cottage in the city,” to see just how far this $800,000, $900,000, or even $1,000,000 budget goes in Toronto.
