Do you have any interest in living in a basement apartment?
Wait, perhaps I’m not selling this correctly.
Let me rephrase: if you were an investor looking to get into the market, would you consider buying a multi-unit dwelling and spending a year, give-or-take in the least desirable unit in the property?
Consider a triplex, just for a moment.
If you were somebody looking to get into the real estate market but at a much higher price and with a more substantial property type than just a one-bedroom condo, could you conceive of buying a triplex and living in one unit while renting out the other two?
I’ll tell you, right off the hop: you won’t be living in the lap of luxury!
As you’ll see in today’s Pick5 video, even “quality” triplexes are going to offer units that look sub-par, compared to a newer one-bedroom condo. But financially, this style of living puts the user in a whole other world.
So let’s look at five triplexes today, ranging in price from $1.3M – $1.7M, and compare/contrast the locations, sizes, styles, layouts, features/finishes, and of course, the rents.
