What do you think of when you hear the term “modern home?”

Does that simply mean new, in your mind?  Or do you think of a particular style and design of home?

While many areas of Toronto are dominated by heritage Victorian & Edwardian homes, and others are filled with World War Two era brick homes, many of the newer builds have been of the super-modern variety.

Sleek, rectilinear, minimalist, and open concept throughout, this modern style is a design-magazine darling!

But are these functional?  Are they “warm” enough for you and your family?

In today’s Pick5, I want to look at how many of these homes are described, and perhaps take some time to make light of the over-used buzz-words used in the listings, and then compare and contrast the features therein.
