I’ve often said that when it comes to determining the content of Pick5, sometimes, I pick the theme, and sometimes, the theme picks me.
When I sat down today to look through new listings in the central core, I saw the most beautiful Victorian home had just come up for sale on Macdonell Avenue in Roncesvalles. And as I scrolled to the east side, I saw this incredible Victorian masterpiece on Morse Street. And when I took a look at new listings in Cabbagetown for a client who’s exclusively looking in the neighbourhood, I saw a unique, almost one-of-a-kind home on Sumach Street.
Suffice it to say, I didn’t pick the theme for this week’s Pick5.
This week, the theme picked me!
I have never owned or lived in a Victorian-era home, but if I come back in another life, that’s the property-type that I’m going to target.
There’s something about a 150-year-old home that is so fascinating to me, and with these properties in short supply, it’s always a celebration when a restored, upgraded, renovated version hits the open market.
So in today’s Pick5, I’m going to show you five Victorian homes, starting with a literal “worker’s cottage” from 1880 for under a million-dollars, and culminating with a $3 Million detached. They’re all special in their own way, and they’re all breathtaking.
