What Are Condo Prices Like Outside The GTA?

February 22, 2024

What’s the going rate for a condominium in the downtown core?

I don’t mean in terms of the absolute price, but rather the relative price, ie. price-per-square-foot.

Having just sold a micro-condo tonight for $1,310 per square foot, and with a buyer of ours purchasing in an older building last week for under $900 per square foot, prices can be all over the map.

But if I had to speculate what the average rate is, I’d say it’s probably around $1,200/sqft.

So, what are prices like outside of Toronto then?

And if you went way out of the city, and out of the GTA, what does the condo market look like?

A few weeks ago, on Pick5, we looked at detached family-homes throughout the Golden Horseshoe.

In today’s Pick5, I want to look at condominiums in some of those cities and towns as well.

Let’s not only examine the price-per-square-foot, but also the style of condominium, the size, and what’s around these buildings too, since many of these condos would be defined as “middle of nowhere” compared to the hustle-and-bustle of downtown Toronto.

Hope you enjoy!
