What do you think of when you hear the word “den?”
Alright, well maybe you think of a small cave where a family of foxes live?
Let me rephrase: what do you think of when you hear the word “den” in a real estate context?
Once upon a time, a den was a room in a home where the family would watch TV. But as it pertains to the condo market, a den was meant to be a second bedroom of sorts; just smaller, maybe without a window, and it may or may not have a door.
In recent years, what constitutes a “den” has been open to interpretation, but developers have run with this and often labelled nooks and alcoves as “dens” when you or I would think it’s really just a great space for a bookshelf.
So today, let’s look at five downtown condos recently listed for sale, and irrespective of the location, building, price, property type, or how the unit show, let’s look at the five dens and determine whether each would be useful and practical, or not.
