Funny Toronto Street Names!

This video is originally from 2013, and upon viewing it again, I can’t possibly tell you how much I miss my brush-cut!

I showed a property on Blong Avenue last week, and we were all giggling at the name of the street.  It just sounds like so many silly things, or a combination of a few dirty and/or taboo words.

So in case you haven’t seen it, here’s my take on funny Toronto street names, from 2013, when pleated-pants were only sort of out of style, and before I owned a lav-mic.

Enjoy!

Hilarious video. I don’t remember seeing it when you first posted it. We live on Bittersweet Street in Markham and every time I have to give someone my address they start laughing. We have some interesting street names in my area including Morning Dove, Horsetail, Diamond Jubilee, Royal Feathers. In Old Markham Village streets are all names after Knights so you have Sir Lancelot, Sir Gareth, Sir Brandles etc. I think it’s hard to come up with new street names in new subdivisions. My friend who lives in RH has all fruit street names including her own street called Kiwi Street. I’m just glad our street isn’t vulgar and only elicits just a few good natured chuckles. I wonder how much a bad street name could affect property values of the homes living on them.

My wife and I used to live on John Stoner Drive in Scarborough, which elicited more than a few “knowing looks.”
