Have A Great Long Weekend!

I’ll keep this short and sweet…

Somebody said to me last week, “Summer is really slow for real estate, right?  I guess you’ve had some time off and a chance to rest up a bit?”

I asked her if she’d ever seen Elf with Will Ferrell.

She confirmed that she had.

I told her, “Remember the scene where, the day after Christmas, in Santa’s Workshop, the head elf announces that there are only 364 more days until Christmas, and they’d better get started on presents for next year?”

She nodded in agreement.

I told her, “We spend all summer getting properties ready for fall.  There is no ‘down time’ for us.”

Folks, I don’t know what you are expecting for fall, but I think it’s going to be crazy.

The stock market.  The economy.  The trade war.  All the talk about interest rates.  The beginning of NFL football.  The fall real estate market.

Take your pick!

The last time we had a summer that was this busy, it was 2020 and the month of August saw us playing “catch-up” for the months of April, May, and June, which were lost to COVID.

Last month wasn’t busy from a sales perspective, but in terms of preparation for the fall and total number of man-hours worked, it was epic.

The TRREB stats were released on Thursday, which, of course, was too late for me to use in a timely blog post.

Tsk tsk.

I’ll have to put that in the queue for next week.

And since I never like to “burn” a blog post before a long weekend when y’all are away, I figure we’ll meet up here next week with much to talk about.

Have a great long weekend, everybody!
