“IKEA Condos”

Condos

No, these condos were not actually built by IKEA.  But due to their proximity to the cheap-furniture giant, and their cheap, simplistic and colourful nature, I have a feeling that “Concord Park Place” will eventually be known as the IKEA Towers

There are two completed towers in “Concord Park Place,” and there are proposals for five others.

This development had a ton of red flags when I first looked at it two years ago – it’s in a poor location, it’s too busy – with all the traffic from the big-box stores, it’s being built by Concord Adex, and there is far too much vacant land surrounding the two existing towers.

But it’s the association with IKEA that would make me worry if I owned a unit here!

As I said in the video – IKEA is synonymous with cheap, entry-level furniture that is as close to ‘disposable’ as furniture can get.

And the condos across the street actually look like they were built by IKEA!

Well, I guess if the building had a giant Prada logo, then people would be breaking down the doors to get inside…

After vowing to never buy Ikea furniture again, we… went ahead and bought Ikea furniture again. I agree with you David that much of what they sell is only fit for “temporary” use, but there is some high-quality stuff in their catalogue as well.

It’s probably only a matter of time before the IKEA and big box stores are torn down and turned into more condos.

The big problem with this site is noise from the 401. I would never buy a condo where I can hear freeway noise.
