An upstanding Torontonian smashed my car window and stole my laptop last night, so I’m gonna have to put a pause on the blog for a day or two.  That laptop is my life.

TRB will be right back after these messages…”

Wow dude that sucks. We were broken into in 2008 so I know the pain. On the otherhand, you’re getting a new dell, dude! 😉

      @ Geoff

Hahaha how did you know I’m Dell-loyal?

Dell! Come on David, you’re a high rollin’ real estate baller, you need a MainGear or a Falcon Northwest machine.

Seriously though, that sucks! Hopefully you have backups!

          Okay, hear me out…

I have “a guy” who has been putting together computers since he was 2-years-old. My (stolen) laptop, which will be replaced exactly the same, is a Dell – but it’s a Dell shell, really (M6600). My computer guy adds about $1,500 in after market parts, puts his own spin on the thing, and when all is said and done, I get a $6,000 computer for about $3,200. I’m not a techie, so I can’t talk shop about what’s in it, but believe me – this thing rocks!

And the best part is – my guy has connections at Dell, and what would take until October 5th to receive is now coming tomorrow morning. I will be back up and running by Saturday afternoon, and this whole incident will be a distant memory (except for my bank statement…)

Right now I’m using some crappy computer at my office. This sucks…

As the Broker of Record for Milestone Silver Realty Ltd. I can readily say that you use the term “upstanding” quite loosely. I’d like to pass on the following wish to you
“May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of that upstanding individual who has wronged you and may his arms be too short to scatch them.
Hoping you have a better day

Reminds me of a ticket we got last summer while legally parked in Old Montréal. I was upset at first, only to discover the “ticket” was actually a courtesy advising us that we had left parcels in our vehicle in plain view. Never again.

Why does a Realtor need a $3200 computer? Do you play DOOM during slow open houses?

      @ Dan

DOOM, no. Command & Conquer, YES!!!

Well a $3200 computer still wont make the place smell like fresh baked cookies.

Maybe yours won’t, but Dave has this awesome USB accessory… sorry to (belatedly) hear about the loss! 🙁
