Oh you bet I’ve been saving these up for some time now!
It’s been a month since my last edition of Photos Of The Week, and there are some real doozies here!
Sometimes, I feel blessed to get to go in and out of so many houses and condos during the course of a week, and see as many amazing, and weird, things as I do.
This week’s feature will offer equally as many amazing items as weird ones. But then again, what’s weird to some, might seem completely normal to others…
Let’s start with a couple of real MLS photos, that either do a really good job of setting the mood for the prospective buyer, or simply make them laugh at the attempt.
Here’s a cool, funky, condo loft where all you want to do is sit and strum your guitar while your girlfriend cooks you dinner.
I guess words can’t describe this place, so the photo will have to do:
And this photo wouldn’t be that strange, except that this is a CURRENT photo from an ACTIVE listing.
Check your calendar, because mine says May.
So either this person is using old photos for their May listing, or they still have their December decorations…
Let’s move on to something more real.
Unfortunately, this is a little too real.
Nothing quite says “1,600,000 house for sale” like two dead rats in the swimming pool:
Okay, that was weird.
Here’s something more uplifting, but equally as weird.
I saw this old yard-spinning wheel in a house, and I thought it was a really cool piece.
It’s something you might expect to find in a downtown Toronto hard-loft, with exposed brick walls, and timber beams, along with a reclaimed barn-door, and maybe a coffee-table made from a wooden crate:
But the funny thing is, I didn’t find that wooden wheel in a cool loft.
I found it in a house, along with this:
And this:
And by the time I got to this last piece, I started to wonder if these items weren’t for show, like the guitar that every guy leaves in the corner of his condo even though he can’t play, or the New York art books that people have on their coffee tables, even though they know nothing about art.
Somewhere right now, this person is knitting a massive sweater…
As for this next photo, trust me when I say that this was EXACTLY how I found it.
Yes, that electrical cord was running over the sink.
And it was at an open house too, which means the seller and the agent overlooked it…
What’s stranger:
1) having a sink in your computer room
2) putting a computer that close to your sink
This is actually what happens when a seller, stager, and real estate agent have no clue how to address the fact that the house was a duplex, and many features of that duplex remain.
My idea would probably have been to finally remove that stupid sink in the BEDROOM, and put a couch there instead…
And last but not least, who doesn’t have Netflix these days?
Best $8.00 I ever spent, I tell ya!
And that feature – the one where Netflix figures you out, what you like, who you are, and what you’ll probably enjoy watching – well as you can see below, they know my wife all too well….

I think one of the best additions to this great blog site is “Chroscklh”. Thank you…

In the first photo, I can only guess she’s pregnant, since she’s already barefoot… 😉 She’ll regret the no-sensible-shoes option, though, because with that hard concrete floor, her back will be killing her soon.

The knitting stuff is really cool. A lost art, so I admire anyone who can use these machines.

I think that the weaving paraphernalia is pretty cool. Costs a boatload too.
