Six Reasons Why Toronto Will Not Incorporate A Foreign Buyers Tax

This story will just not die a natural death.

It’s been a month since all the hoopla about Vancouver’s 15% “foreign buyer tax” started, and I never thought we’d still be talking about it into September.

It doesn’t affect us here in Toronto, and yet the stories continue to mount.

The story I’m second-most tired of hearing about: Toronto following suit with a similar tax.

Here are five reasons why it won’t happen… Read More

What Are The Rules Regarding Disclosure Of Offers?

The idea for this blog post actually came to me in a dream, but more on that in a moment…

A buyer-client of mine was a bit frustrated last week when a property that we were going to view, sold before we could get in.  She asked me, “Don’t they have to tell you there’s an offer?”

I told her it’s not that simple.  Who am I, to “them?”  How do they know I have an interested client?

Trust me – it’s always easier said than done…

Dundas & Jarvis – Is This The Next Big “Condo Corner?”

Try and picture “Dundas and Jarvis” in your mind’s eye, and something tells me you’ll cringe just a wee bit.

It’s not a great corner.  In fact, it’s not a great area.

Feature after feature, he kept saying “no.”

I finally asked, “Are you willing to give anything up?”

If you’re a first-time buyer, you have to prioritize your “wants and needs” list…

Prediction For The Fall Market: “Offer Dates” For Condos Will Run Rampant

It’s going to happen, so be prepared.

If you’re looking to buy a condo in the upcoming Fall market, the best thing for you to do is accept that “offer dates” for condos will be the new normal, and then you won’t be caught off guard, and/or frustrated come September.

Easier said than done, considering “offer dates” for condos were rare in the spring.

But hot has gotten hotter, and we simply have no choice anymore…

MLS Musings!

More MLS Musings!

Monday and Wednesday’s blogs were absolute beauties.

But all the comments, insight, and debate from the readers was what really made me proud of TRB.

I’ve never seen so many readers delve into their own personal lives before, and it really added to the “realness” of Toronto’s house-price problem.

So with that said, time to get less serious.  Here’s a few MLS pics and descriptions that have made me “LOL” as the kids say…
